first signs of crawling
Yesterday, 20th October, Ruby showed the first signs of crawling. Lying on her tummy, lifting her bottom up and going backwards. Let's see if she does it again today!

Adult Company
Last night, for the first time since the girls were born, we wad dinner guests!
Drew, Nathania and Ivy both came over with drinks and we had home made burgers and yummy nibbles and then around 9:30 Ivy left and the rest of us got comfy outside to watch "The Moon" on the outdoor cinema that Josh had set up.
The girls slept the whole night and our guests left around 11:30pm. Josh had had a few beers and kept whispering to me "this is so much fun". I'd say the night was a success. Even if the movie was craphouse.
Hurrah for clear nghts. and iphone projectors onto white sheets. and solar powered fairy lights and popcorn. and babies sleeping through the night.

10 months
We have clapping (Ruby), dancing (Ava), playing peek a boo on their own, bouncing and so much giggling. And sometimes they happily play on their tummies longer than normal, so who knows, maybe we are getting a bit closer to movement.
They are both just under 7 kgs and both have 5 teeth, but looks like it'll be 7 very soon.
Their hair is getting longer and longer.
If I say up, they put their arms out to be picked up.
Ava loves soul. and "the fox" song. And they both love Baa baa black sheep, twinkle twinkle little star and Old McDonald had a farm.
Ruby happily plays by herself (except when she is teething) but Ava is definitely going through separation anxiety. She is fine but as soon as she loses sight of me or thinks I've walked away too far, well, she lets out the most awful cry. Sounds gut wrenching but she'll be all smiles as soon as I come back.
Ruby still likes to scream every now and then just to make sure we are all still awake. She thinks it is the best party trick ever and I don't know how to convince her otherwise.

teething monsters
We've had a bad run with little Ava teething and getting teething snots. Bright red, hot cheeks and glassy eyes and oh so miserable :( Lasted a bit longer than a week, but she came right in the last 2 days and we've had the girls sleeping through the night again. Woohoo!
And then today, Ruby got bright red, hot cheeks, glassy eyes and cried at the drop of a hat.... here we go again!
